Minister Ajanović Hovnik does not plan to resign
LJUBLJANA - Public Administration Minister Sanja Ajanović Hovnik does not plan to step down. "I have done nothing illegal, I am transparent about my work," she told TV Slovenija last night about accusations related to a trip to New York and a ministry open call for NGOs. She however said than an internal inquiry will be carried out to check why plane tickets to New York were so expensive, while she has also ordered a check of the open call that she wants to annul.
Roglič confirms he is leaving Jumbo Visma
LJUBLJANA - Three-time Vuelta winner Primož Roglič confirmed rumours that he is leaving Team Jumbo Visma but he does not plan to reveal his new team until the end of the final race of the season. "I can only confirm that I am leaving my current team. I'll try to reveal all other details after the end of the season, after my final race," he told national broadcaster RTV Slovenija in an interview released on Saturday.
Double Slovenian win at the Giro d'Emilia
BOLOGNA, Italy - Primož Roglič won the Giro d'Emilia, a one-day classic in Bologna, ahead of his Slovenian compatriot Tadej Pogačar, for what is the 80th win of his career. Nine of the best climbers fought it out on the steep climb to the finish. Roglič attacked in the last 300 metres and crossed the finish line a second ahead of Pogačar and Adam Yates.
