Lay-offs start at Lek in Prevalje as antibiotic production shuts down

Prevalje, 18 October - Lek, the Slovenian arm of Sandoz, which employed some 220 people in Prevalje this spring, started laying off workers last week following the announcement that it would stop antibiotic production there by the end of the year after more than 35 years. According to unofficial information, some 110 people were laid off.
