Border control
"Border control for fear of terrorists": Border checks will be reintroduced this Saturday on the Slovenian border with Italy in the face of an increased terrorist treat. The government will decide today on the introduction of border checks on the borders with Croatia and Hungary. (front page, 4)
Wait times in healthcare
"Wait times gone wild": Cutting wait times in healthcare has been the goal of every Slovenian government in the last two decades. The latest data, from July, shows that 281,000 patients waited for treatment, which is over 20,000 more than in October last year, when efforts to cut wait times started. (front page, 3)
US president visit to Israel
"Biden's visit in the shade of horror": US President Joe Biden was in Israel yesterday. But during his flight hundreds of people were killed in the Evangelical community hospital al-Ahli Arab, so Palestinian, Jordanian and Egyptian leaders cancelled their meetings with Biden. (front page, 5)

Post-flood reconstruction
"Where did aid money go and how much is yet to be paid out": The latest figures show that the direct flood damage amounts to EUR 4 billion, the estimated damage and reconstruction costs EUR 10 billion, while the government set aside EUR 521 million in budget funds to help the affected citizens.
