Kenyan and Ethiopian runners win Ljubljana Marathon

Ljubljana, 22 October - Edmond Kipngetich from Kenya won the Ljubljana Marathon on Sunday, crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 6 minutes and 47 seconds. Zinash Gerado Senbeta from Ethiopia won the women's competition with an event record of 2 hours, 21 minutes and 5 seconds.

Na 27. Ljubljanskemu maratonu so bile na sporedu preizkušnje na 42 in 21 kilometrov ter na 10 kilometrov. Trasa je potekala po ulicah in cestah v središču mesta in njegovi okolici s startom na ploščadi Ajdovščina pri Figovcu.

Kenyan runner Kipkemoi Kiprono finished second in the men's competition, followed by Ethiopian Gossa Ambelu Challa in third place.

In the women's category, Gebiyanesh Ayele Gedamu from Ethiopia finished second and Neja Kršinar from Slovenia was third, finishing the run in 2 hours, 45 minutes and 30 seconds.

Two Slovenians made the top ten in the men's category, with the best result scored by Simon Navodnik, who finished seventh. In the women's category, as many as seven Slovenians are in the top ten.
