Hiring in R&D
"Blue card for easier hiring of foreigners": A state subsidy scheme envisaged to help with the hiring of highly-trained staff is becoming unlikely. The EU Blue Card is expected to bring some relief in the issue. (front page, 8)
National Assembly president
"President's sin": The National Assembly President Urška Klakočar Zupančič has been urged to resign by her own deputy group. In a turbulent discussion with her fellow MPs she showed no intention of resigning. Perhaps this will be discussed at the party's council meeting today. The Freedom Movement is unhappy she did not toe the line in the dismissal of Agriculture Minister Irena Šinko. (front page, 2)
Erased
"Park of Erased and a commemorative ć": A park commemorating the Erased, thousands of ex-Yugoslav nationals erased from Slovenia's residence registries after the break up of Yugoslavia, is opening in Ljubljana. (front page)

Digital Transformation Ministry
"Why has ministry bought 13,000 computers?": The Ministry of Digital Transformation will shortly receive 13,000 laptops but it is unclear who will be using them. Some are to go to schools and some to flood victims. But it seems the ministry ordered the computers with a different purpose and is now trying to resolve the situation, looking to justify the EUR 6.5 million order. (front page, 2)

"Helicopter always there": Data on mountain rescue services over the course of this summer shows that choppers are integral. (front page, 4 and 12)

Subsidies
"Fresh money to build, buy or renovate": Subsidies are once again available for the construction, purchase or renovation of a zero-energy house. Subsidies are higher, but conditions stricter. (front page, 2 and 3)

"Bank hurtling toward EUR 1bn in profits": Business results of Slovenian banks for the first eight months of the year show that they will generate at least EUR 1 billion in pre-tax profits. (front page, 8 and 9)

Shooting incident
