Dubbed the Gorski Kotar Model Farm, the property will serve as a multifunctional centre for the Slovenian community in the Gorski Kotar region. It will also feature farming, tourism, educational, developmental and administrative services.

Arčon was informed about the progress of the EUR 1.3 million project, which is funded half each by the ministries for Slovenians abroad and agriculture. The construction started in 2020 and praising the dedication of the initiative committee, the minister said work is to be completed by the end of the year.

Arčon underlined the importance of the model farm for the Slovenian community in Croatia, saying it will bring together the community's various associations, boosting their impetus and motivation.

The farm will also become a connecting link between the community and Slovenia, said Arčon, adding that it would bring together local producers and leave a mark on the region that is home to the Slovenian community.

Wrapping up his trip, Arčon said he was very happy with his visit and pleasantly surprised with all the different activities of the Slovenian community in Prezid.
