Govt proposes partial indexation of welfare, lifts ban on public sector pay rise

Ljubljana, 16 November - The government endorsed on Thursday changes to the bill on the implementation of the 2023 and 2024 budgets, scrapping the provision under which base public sector pay would not go up in 2024. It also decided that social transfers will be adjusted to inflation next year, to the tune of 70%, and pensions will go up by 8.2% in January.
