Small rural community celebrating millet, old staple of Slovenian diet

Mavčiče, 24 November - A small rural community north of Ljubljana is celebrating millet with a number of events on Friday to mark International Year of Millets. "Tens of generations living in Sorško Polje plateau have survived through famines, droughts and wars of the past millennia on millet," the event organisers have said.
