Foreign language soon mandatory from grade one

Ljubljana, 30 November - Slovenian students will have to learn a foreign language from grade one of primary school under amendments to the Act on Primary Schools that the government confirmed on Thursday. A plan to introduce a mandatory second language in higher grades has been aborted.
