Filipino labour
"Slovenia ready for Filipino workers": According to unofficial information, the Slovenian consulate in Manila, the Philippines, could become fully operational as early as in January. It is mainly aimed at facilitating the employment of Filipino workers in Slovenia. (front page, 8)

Serbia election
"Vučić celebrating major victory, opposition up in arms": A day after a general election in Serbia, there is no doubt left about Aleksandar Vučić being the absolute winner, but there remain allegations about electoral irregularities. (front page, 5)

"Winter holiday allowance for the first time": Pensioners will receive a winter holiday allowance tomorrow in what is the first time this bonus will be paid out. The amount will range from EUR 58 to EUR 182. (front page, 3)


"Is there a maths or physics teacher anywhere?": Amid severe staff shortages in schools, many experienced teachers are leaving their jobs. The most in demand are maths and physics teachers. Head teachers think the Education Ministry should step up its efforts to turn the situation around. (front page, 2)

"Green light for merger of Ljubljana kindergartens": Even though a number of experts and organisations oppose the incorporation of Ljubljana kindergartens into a single institution, the city council gave the plan the go-ahead yesterday. (front page, 8)
