SocDems urge justice minister to resign

Ljubljana, 29 January - The presidency of Social Democrats (SD) called on Justice Minister Dominika Švarc Pipan, one of their three government ministers, to resign over the contentious purchase of a dilapidated and possibly overpriced building late last year meant to be renovated to house several courts.

SD leader Tanja Fajon told the press late on Monday that the party expected Švarc Pipan to resign due to her "objective responsibility" in the EUR 7.7 million deal.

In 2019, the same building was purchased by a businessman from a bankruptcy estate for EUR 1.7 million.
