MPs pass fast-tracked changes to Prešeren Prize Act

Ljubljana, 30 January - The National Assembly passed on Tuesday amendments to the Prešeren Prize Act under which the annual Culture Day ceremony, where Prešeren Prizes are conferred, will no longer be organised by the Prešeren Fund board but by the authority in charge of state ceremonies in general. The opposition sees the changes as an act of politicisation.
