PM Golob says at Munich conference time is not right for UN Security Council reform
MUNICH, GERMANY - Time is not right for UN Security Council reform, Prime Minister Robert Golob said in a panel debate at the Munich Security Conference. "We are living in a time of crises and it is important that we focus first and foremost on solutions, not on reforms that take the focus away." But Slovenia will focus on ending the abuse of the veto in the Security Council, he was quoted as saying in a post by the government on X following the discussion dedicated to UN Security Council reform at which he was an honorary speaker. The situation in the Middle East was in focus as he met President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljarić Egger, Abdullah II of Jordan, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and the chair of Open Society Foundations Alexander Soros.
