Janša says EU elections will be wake-up call as SDS marks 35th anniversary

MARIBOR - The SDS is the most successful political project in Slovenia's history, its leader Janez Janša said as the party marked its 35th anniversary on Saturday. He believes the current state of affairs in Slovenia calls for "a loud wake-up call" to turn toward the course for which people voted in the independence plebiscite. The first such wake-up call will be the SDS's rally in Ljubljana on 21 March and the second one the EU elections on 9 June. Before the anniversary ceremony, the SDS council endorsed the party's list of candidates for the EU elections, headlined by both of the party's MEPs, Romana Tomc and Milan Zver.
