Several hundred rally against "Israeli apartheid"
LJUBLJANA - An estimated 600 people rallied against "Israeli apartheid" in front of the parliament, marking half a year since the start of the conflict in the Gaza Strip. During this time, neither the Slovenian government nor the EU imposed a single sanction, a military embargo or cut diplomatic ties with Israel, the protesters said, expressing belief that this would have forced Israel into a ceasefire.
Experts deactivate WWII bomb in Maribor
MARIBOR - The national unexploded ordnance (UXO) unit successfully deactivated an aerial bomb from the Second World War in Maribor. Found in the Tezno commercial zone on 28 March, the 250-kilo bomb was deactivated in less than 40 minutes, with two experts unscrewing the bomb's two fuses.
Sunny weather brings new temp records, including earliest 30C measured
OSILNICA/TRBOVLJE/KREDARICA/LOGARSKA DOLINA - A weather station of the Environment Agency recorded 30 degrees Celsius in the village of Osilnica in southern Slovenia, "the earliest 30 degrees on record in Slovenia", the agency posted on X. Before today, the earliest that 30 degrees Celsius was recorded in Slovenia was on 23 April in 2018. Record values were also measured by high-altitude weather stations on Kredarica and in Logarska Valley.
