MPs green-light assisted dying referendum

Ljubljana, 18 April - The National Assembly passed Wednesday evening with 49 votes in favour and 8 against a motion for a referendum on assisted dying. Despite some reservations by the Social Democrats (SD), the coalition provided enough votes for the passage, while the opposition expressed strong criticism, with the Democrats (SDS) obstructing the vote.
