LIEGE, Belgium - Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) won the Liege-Bastogne-Liege race after attacking on the La Redoute hill, 35 km before the finish line. He finished 1:39 minutes ahead of France's Romain Bardet (DSM-firmenich PostNL) and 2:02 ahead of Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck).

Prešeren Prize laureate Kugler makes new docu on Slovenian pre-Christian beliefs

IDRIJA - Slovenian cineaste and Prešeren Prize laureate Ema Kugler has released a new documentary on Slovenian pre-Christian beliefs, titled Once upon a Time in Posočje, which was screened for the first time on Saturday in Idrija. It depicts an oral folk tradition of the western Posočje region.

Man dies in excavator accident

LJUBLJANA - A 55-year-old man died in an accident on Friday at a construction site in Ljubljana after he was pinned to a truck by an excavator. In another construction site accident on Saturday an 18-year old sustained life-threatening injuries.
