Campaign launched to ban cages for hens and sows in Slovenia

Ljubljana, 6 May - A Slovenian animal welfare NGO launched on Monday a campaign which urges legislation to abolish the use of cages in animal husbandry, foremost for laying hens and sows. The campaign is accompanied by a petition addressed to the government, as an EU poll has showed that a vast majority of Slovenians are against such cages.
