At Rajhenburg, originally built between 1131 and 1147 by Archbishop Konrad of Salzburg and considered one of the finest examples of medieval castle architecture in Slovenia, visitors will be treated to a tour focusing on the fortification aspects of the building.

The free-entry event will moreover feature a concert by renowned Slovenian double bassist Žiga Golob and percussionist Andrej Hrvatin.

Rajhenburg, perched on a rocky prominence sixty metres above the confluence of the Brestanica stream and the Sava River, was renovated comprehensively just over ten years ago.

It is the first Slovenian castle to join the Night of Fortresses project, held for the first time in 2022 in Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia-Herzegovina as a result of the joint European initiative FORTITUDE. Fortresses in the Czech Republic, Romania and Serbia have participated as well.
