In Klagenfurt, Pirc Musar will visit the Bilingual Commercial Academy and the Slovenian Grammar School, where she will have a discussion with students and attend the evening ceremonial academy.

The meeting with representatives of the Slovenian community in Austria will be organised over a working lunch.

Representatives of the minority have been warning for a long time about the inadequate implementation of their rights in Austria, which are guaranteed to them by Article 7 of the Austrian State Treaty.

Among other things, they highlight the need to manage the use of the Slovenian language in education, judiciary and administration.

The president will also meet separately with the Carinthian politician Karel Smolle, who this year received the Tischler Award for his long-standing political activity at the federal and state levels in Austria. Smolle was the first member of the Slovenian minority to get elected to the Austrian parliament.

Pirc Musar will moreover meet with the Carinthian Governor Peter Kaiser. At the end of April, Kaiser attended a session of the Joint Committee Slovenia - Carinthia at Brdo pri Kranju, which highlighted the strengthening of cooperation in a number of areas.

As part of the visit, the president will also have a discussion with entrepreneurs in Carinthia in Ruden near Völkermarkt in the afternoon and visit the Urbas Maschinenfabrik company.
