Ex-UKOM boss charged with abuse of office for suspending STA funding

Ljubljana, 5 June - The Ljubljana State Prosecutor's Office has brought charges against Uroš Urbanija, former director of the Government Communication Office (UKOM), for abuse of office over his suspending of funding to the STA under the previous government, which pushed the agency in a major financial crisis. The crime carries a prison sentence of up to three years.

Uroš Urbanija, a former government top communications officer, serving as UKOM director between March 2020 and June 2022. He later became director of TV Slovenija, the television arm of public broadcaster RTV Slovenija.
