Slovenia's prisons overcrowded, prison population rate very low

Ljubljana, 10 June - Prison over-crowdedness remains a burning issue in a number of European countries, including Slovenia, data for 2023 shows. But while Slovenia's prisons are severely overcrowded, its prison population rate is remarkably low, the Council of Europe (CoE) penal statistics report Space I says.
