Slovenian Tourist Board to promote Slovenia at Euro 2024
Ljubljana, 13 June - The Slovenian Tourist Board (STO) and its partners will launch a campaign promoting Slovenian tourism in Germany and beyond in the framework of the UEFA Euro 2024 beginning on Friday. The STO will advertise on screens in all three cities that will host Slovenia's matches.
Slovenia qualifying for the Euro provides an excellent opportunity to boost Slovenia's visibility in Germany, the head of the STA office in Germany Rebeka Kumer Bizjak pointed out.
"Football is extremely popular in Germany, and the championship has an even wider reach globally. There will be around three million football fans watching the matches in stadiums, and the final alone is expected to attract around 300 million TV viewers."
The STO wishes to portray Slovenia as a top-notch tourist destination with a love for sports, and as a country with numerous economic and investment opportunities.
"With sustainability and high-quality services we will try to impress and attract German tourists who value eco-friendly and authentic experiences, as well as other sports enthusiasts from all over the world," added Kumer Bizjak.
The promotional campaign will include advertising on screens in all three cities that host the matches of the Slovenian national team (Stuttgart, Munich, and Cologne), TV advertising of Slovenia on several German channels during the championship to encourage German tourists to visit Slovenia, and the use of the I Feel Slovenia brand as part of all the activities of the Football Association of Slovenia.
"These activities complement the regular STO promotional campaigns on the German market, such as the global digital campaign, presentations at numerous fairs and markets, collaborations with the media, and study trips for journalists and travel organisers," the STO added.
The promotional activities will be carried out in collaboration with the Football Association of Slovenia, the Spirit Slovenia public agency, the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, and the Slovenian embassy in Germany.
