Arčon visits Slovenians in Germany
Stuttgart, 16 June - Minister for Slovenians Abroad Matej Arčon will visit Baden-Württemberg on Sunday to meet with the representatives of the largest Slovenian community in Germany. In the evening he will attend Slovenia's first match at Euro 2024 in Stuttgart.
He will meet with the representatives of Slovenian associations in Baden-Württemberg. Arčon will also meet with the Baden-Württemberg State Secretary for European Affairs Florian Hassler and Honorary Consul of Slovenia Matthias Karl, the minister's office said.
Arčon, who is also Slovenia's deputy prime minister, will be the highest government representative to attend the first match of the Slovenian national team at the Euro 2024. He will watch the match against Denmark with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
Some 40,000 to 50,000 Slovenians are estimated to be living in Germany, close to 20,000 in Baden-Württemberg, making Stuttgart the home of one of the largest Slovenian diaspora communities.
