Olympics 2024: 100 years since the first Slovenian gold medal
Ljubljana, 24 July - The Slovenian flag was flown for the first time in the Olympics at the Winter Games in Albertville 1992, a year after Slovenia gained independence. Nevertheless, Slovenian athletes have been taking part in the Olympics nearly since the start of the modern era, winning the first gold medal exactly 100 years ago in this year's host city, Paris.
