Archbishops stress importance of faith on Assumption Day

BREZJE/PTUJ - Marking the Feast of the Assumption, Archbishop of Ljubljana Stanislav Zore highlighted during the main mass held at Brezje on Thursday the significance of faith in contrast to atheism and the endless search for oneself. The religious holiday, a work-free day, was honoured around the country, including at Ptujska Gora by Maribor Archbishop Alojzij Cvikl, who also stressed the importance of faith.

Slovenia reiterates call for release of UN personnel by Houthis

* NEW YORK, US - Slovenian Ambassador Samuel Žbogar reiterated at the UN Security Council session the call for the immediate, safe and unconditional release of the UN personnel arbitrarily detained by the Houthis in June. Saying it is deeply regrettable that there has been no progress in releasing the UN personnel, Žbogar said "this detention confirms a pattern of increasing disregard for the protection afforded to international, humanitarian, and health organisation personnel under international humanitarian law".
