Leasing Increasing Both in Eastern and Western Europe

In Western European countries leasing is increasing by 5 to 15 percent annually, the rate is even higher, up to 30 percent in average in Central and Eastern European countries, while in some countries growth hovers even up to 50 percent, according to preliminary data for 1997 provided by Leaseurope, the association of national leasing societies from 30 European countries. In Central and Eastern Europe, however, quality development of leasing is progressing fairly slowly, mainly because of inadequate legislation.
