Walk to commemorate daring WWII allied forces prison break

Maribor, 28 August - Eighty years will pass this weekend since the most successful prisoner of war break of World War II was executed near Maribor by locals, the Slovenian Partisans and British intelligence. The operation, which liberated some 100 POWs, will be honoured in the coming weeks with a trek along the 273-kilometre path that led them to freedom.
