The National Assembly passed a Road Safety Act in the first days of April and a law to conclude privatization. The legislators also dealt at length with a deficiency bill to the national programme of motorway construction. Meeting behind closed doors, parliamentary parties' coordination discussed Slovenia's accession to the European Union, especially protective legislation, only a day before the government appointed Slovenia's team for negotiations with the EU.
