The fear with which we expect negotiations with the European Union is based on several long-term moves which will be necessary to make our economy competitive and able to survive. The world is opening and globalising, and there is not much choice: you either join it and become a part of it, which is - from the viewpoint of consumers who would like to live better - in the interest of us all, or you close as a country, Janez Potočnik, the head of the negotiating group, which will negotiate Slovenia's accession to the EU, told in the daily Večer interview.
