Večer: Sirens Howling

Maribor's Večer has pointed out problems of volunteers in its article on Sunday's earthquake in western Slovenia. It says many enthusiasts in Slovenia, either volunteer firemen, Red Cross members or blood-donors, do not mind the risk, the trouble or their spare time when offering a helping hand to their fellow citizens, but the humanistic idea, though deeply rooted in the Slovene soul, is slowly but surely disappearing.
