State Secretary at the Office for Slovenians Abroad Vesna Humar said that she was glad that the cross-border cooperation between business associations of the Slovenian minority across all four neighbouring countries, which was launched last year, has come to life in practice.

She believes it is an important step in the cooperation between Slovenians on both sides of the border. "The Office for Slovenians Abroad has been funding the work of business organisations for years. We are extremely pleased that in the last two years the Economy Ministry understood and accepted the importance and potential of new business projects for 2025-2028 and give all four organisations an opportunity to grow," Humar said.

The event was aimed at presenting the work of minority business associations to representatives of Slovenian associations in Croatia, the office wrote. The meeting was also aimed at establishing dialogue and searching for opportunities for future cooperation.

Representatives of umbrella business associations from Austria, Hungary, Italy and Croatia discussed the issue at a panel. They agreed that such connections were very important for the strengthening of economic cooperation between minorities and neighbouring countries. Successful business is also an important foundation for maintaining the Slovenian identity in all other areas.
