Delo poll: More than half of respondents think govt will finish term
LJUBLJANA - More than 51% of respondents in a poll commissioned by the newspaper Delo said they believe the Robert Golob government will finish its term. Another 22.6% think the government will only last until the spring of 2025, 7.2% of respondents think it will last until the autumn of 2025 and 17.3% said they did not know. The poll, conducted at the beginning of the month, also showed that 42.2% of respondents are in favour of a snap election, while 44.6% of respondents oppose it. Just over 10% are undecided and 3.1% would not respond.
Floorings maker Juteks reports higher sales, lower profit
ŽALEC - Juteks, the Žalec-based floorings maker owned by the Belgian Beaulieu International Group, recorded EUR 62.1 million in sales revenue in 2023, up 2.8% from the year before. Net profit was at EUR 7.4 million, down by more than a third from 2022. In sales volume Juteks surpassed its target by 11.6% last year, while the figure was also 4% higher than in 2022, the annual report shows.
Dragić's charity event raises EUR 886,000 for underprivileged athletes
LJUBLJANA - The foundation of the Slovenian Olympic Committee (OKS) helping athletes from financially underprivileged families marked its 10th anniversary with a gala fund-raising event in Ljubljana on Friday evening, featuring basketball star Goran Dragić. As ambassador of the project he managed to raise EUR 885,983 to help young aspiring athletes.
