Delo: Ideological 'Transactions' in Tito's Residence

The meetings at Brdo Castle at Brdo pri Kranju, which used to be late Tito's residence, are actually negotiations. And nobody believes that the parties participating in the negotiations would eventually reach agreement. On the contrary, regardless of what they write in a final declaration on the communist regime, their positions will remain just as distant from each other as they are now. The drafting of the document is all about how much of Peterle, Janša or Pahor's philosophy of history will be in it. In short, the opposition party leaders have to be very careful in talking about such 'transactions', particularly because of their voters, which are likely to be dissatisfied, Wednesday's Delo comments on the Brdo pri Kranju talks of representatives of the parliamentary parties on a declaration to define an attitude towards the past communist regime, and on the national reconciliation.
