Euro 2024 most googled item in Slovenia this year
Ljubljana, 10 December - The 2024 UEFA European Football Championship is the most often searched item on Google among Slovenians this year, followed by the US basketball team Dallas Mavericks of the Slovenian superstar Luka Dončić, and the Slovenian TV series Skrito v raju (Hidden in Paradise).
The fourth most frequently searched item in Slovenia in 2024 is the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, followed by the OTP Banka bank, created with the merger of the NKBM and SKB banks.
The most googled person this year is former Justice Minister Dominika Švarc Pipan, followed by Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Donald Trump, Google announced on Thursday.
The Croatian and Slovenian entries at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, Baby Lasagna and Raiven, are the most googled performers, followed by the Slovenian singer-songwriter Magnifico, whose concert in Ljubljana in August was the most searched concert.
In addition to Skrito v Raju, the most googled TV series are the Serbian biographical drama Toma, based on the life of singer Toma Zdravković, and the Netflix miniseries Griselda, based on the life of Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco.
The most searched films in Slovenia in 2024 are the epic science fiction film Dune: Part Two and the black comedy thriller Saltburn.
Following UEFA Euro 2024 as the most googled sporting events are this year's Tour de France, which was won by Slovenia's Tadej Pogačar, and the Summer Olympics in Paris.
The most searched books are Dune by the American science-fiction author Frank Herbert, Aidea by the Slovenian author and podcaster Klemen Selakovič and the romance novel It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover.
