Minister welcomes Schengen accession of Romania and Bulgaria
Brussels, 12 December - Interior Minister Boštjan Poklukar welcomed Thursday's decision by EU interior ministers to lift checks at the internal land borders with and between Bulgaria and Romania as of 1 January 2025, saying that the countries' full membership in the Schengen Area will improve security in Slovenia.
