Slovenia shocked at German Christmas market attack
Ljubljana, 21 December - Prime Minister Robert Golob and Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon said they were shocked at Friday's deadly attack at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg, which has left at least two people dead and dozens injured. They also expressed their solidarity with those affected by it.
"I am deeply shaken by the events in Magdeburg. My thoughts are with Chancellor [Olaf Scholz] and all the people of Germany," Golob wrote on X.
Similarly, Fajon said "the images are horrific. My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. I stand in solidarity with all those affected by this tragic event."
On Friday evening, a man - believed to be 50-year-old Saudi doctor working n Germany since 2006 - drove into a crowd at the Christmas market in Magdeburg, killing a man and a child while injuring more than 60 others. Some are seriously injured.
