Revoz to assemble new Dacia EV

Novo Mesto, 21 February - Revoz, the Slovenian-based assembly plant of the French car manufacturer Renault, has been chosen to assemble the new Dacia EV based on Renault's Twingo, Renault CEO Luca de Meo announced on Thursday. The small EV, expected to be priced below EUR 18,000, could hit the streets in mid-2026.

The car will be developed independently by Dacia based on the new E-Twingo. Not all details are known yet but Dacia said the model would be priced below EUR 18,000 to respond to the growing competition in China.

Renault already entrusted Revoz with the assembly of the E-Twingo, expected to start next year, which sparked rumours that the plant in the city of Novo Mesto could also assemble similar models by Dacia and Nissan. Dacia is part of Renault's group, while Nissan is in a strategic partnership with Renault.

Reports that Revoz could start assembling the electric Nissan Pixo in 2027 have not been confirmed yet.

The assembly of the E-Twingo could create up to 400 jobs in Novo Mesto in the long term, while the Slovenian government will chip in up to EUR 40 million in subsidies for the project, Economy Minister Matjaž Han told the portal Forbes Slovenija a few weeks ago.

According to Forbes, this means that the total amount of Renault's investment is between 120 and 400 million euros, considering that under the law the government can subsidise between 10 and 30% of a company's investment.
