Governor Arhar: The State is Not Necessarily a Bad Owner

The privatization of the greatest Slovene commercial banks Nova Ljubljanska banka and Nova kreditna banka Maribor is not to be carried out headlong. In my opinion, the state is not automatically a bad owner if there is an adequate and a more European relation between the owner and the managers, the governor of the Bank of Slovenia France Arhar said at Tuesday's seminar entitled Liberalization, Privatization, Integration and Concentration on Finance and Capital Markets, organized by the Slovene Management Research Institute for the leading representatives of the Slovene financial sphere. In his address, Arhar particularly outlined the issues of financial transactions and bank risks.
