Positive Economic Trends Continue This Year

Like in 1997, the Slovene economy has recorded positive economic trends in 1998, according to the latest issue of Economic Mirror, published by the Office of Macroeconomic Analyses and Development. Slovenia's GDP measured at fixed prices was 1.9 percent in the January-to-March period 1998 over the October-to-December period 1997, and 6.5 percent over the January-to-March period 1997, data provided by the National Statistical Office said. Such a high growth has not been recorded since the second quarter of 1994, the Economic Mirror says.
