EU Candidates to Submit Position Papers Simultaneously

The EU candidates will submit their position papers simultaneously in the period from 1 through 15 September for at least seven fields, the heads of the six EU candidates' negotiating teams agreed at their third regular meeting, held Monday at Brdo pri Kranju, 30 km north of Ljubljana. Internally, the six aspirants to the EU should be ready to join the 15-nation bloc by 2002, according to today's meeting.
