Slovenia's Labour Force Reaches 972,000 in First Quarter of 1998

Ljubljana, 20 July - Slovenia's population reached 1,985,000 in the January-to-March period, of which there were 970,000 men and 1,015,000 women, a labour force survey has revealed. Slovenia's labour force in the same period amounted to 972,000, of which 890,000 were in paid employment and 82,000 unemployed. The number of inactive persons totaled 676,000 (aged at least 15 but not classified as persons in employment or as unemployed persons), the National Statistical Office said.
