Better than staying outside the European Union is to get to know the logic of the integration, its mechanisms and decision-making principles and think about what could be done to help us keep our identity the way that other countries do, President Milan Kucan said in an interview for Maribor's daily Vecer. Kucan stressed the new Europe will erect walls with consequences more far-reaching than those that divided Europe to ideological blocs; on the other hand it will have little sympathy for the countries that will be left outside.
