Pope John Paul II to Visit Slovenia in September

Pope John Paul II will visit Slovenia on 19 September and beatify Bishop Anton Martin Slomsek (1800 - 1862) in the town of Maribor, northeast, the press service of the Slovene Episcopal Conference said on Monday. Pope's visit to Slovenia has already been officially confirmed by the Holy See. By agreeing to pay a visit to Slovenia, the pope has accepted the invitation of Slovene President Milan Kucan and the Slovene Episcopal Conference.
