Slovene Foreign Ministry Expects the Assets on Cyprus will Remain Frozen

Ljubljana, 23 February - In accordance with the assurances of the Cyprus government which have been expressed several times, the Slovene Foreign Ministry expects that the deposits of the former Yugoslav central bank deposited at the Cyprus branch of the bank Beogradska banka will remain frozen. In its press release on Tuesday, the ministry also expressed expectations that the responsible Cyprus bodies would consistently consider the resolutions of the U.N. Security Council, specifying that the former Yugoslav assets abroad must remain frozen until the agreement is reached by the successors about its distribution.
