Crime on the rise in 1998

Ljubljana, 24 February - A strong increase in the number of criminal acts was recorded in 1998 in Slovenia, according to police statistics. The police dealt with 55,473 cases, 49.2 percent more than the year before, recording another 14,267 criminal acts in which the victims decided not to press charges.
