Slovene Tobacco Company Becomes Majority Owner of Macedonian Rival

The company Tobacna Ljubljana announced Friday it had taken over Macedonia's Tutunski kombinat Skopje (TKS). The Ljubljana tobacco company, whose 58.8-percent owner is Hamburg-based group Reemtsma Zigarettenfabriken, paid DM 8 million for a 97-percent stake in the Skopje-based tobacco industry, according to Tobacna Ljubljana Chairman of the Board Bojan Simonic.
