Kucan and Gligorov - Slovene and Foreign Politicians of 1999

The editorial board of the Slovene daily Delo has chosen painter, philosopher and Jesuit Marko Ivan Rupnik Slovenia's personality of the year 1999 and former Macedonian President Kiro Gligorov the foreign personality of last year. President of Slovenia Milan Kucan however has been chosen Slovenia's most popular politician in 1999 by Delo's readership. Awards were presented to them at a ceremony on Monday by Delo Editor-in-Chief Mitja Mersol. The ceremony was also attended by several distinguished guests and members of the diplomatic corps.
