Weiss and Vrhovnik Rewarded for Persistence

Italian veteran Angelo Weiss is the surprise winner of this year's fourth World Cup slalom event, held in Chamonix. His excellent second run gave him the victory, after he finished the first run seventh. Leader from the first run Norwegian Kjetil Andre Aamondt finished second, 0.44 seconds arrears, while the last podium place was occupied by Slovenia's Matjaz Vrhovnik who was 0.48 seconds behind the leader.
