Review of Slovene Economy from 1 through 7 January

Ljubljana, 9 January - Checking of computer systems for the millennium bug kick-started the week in the Slovene economic circles, just as was the case all around the world. A few minutes after midnight, January 1, it was shown that the preparations for the bug were successful and this was confirmed on Monday the first working day of the new century. There were still doubts though, and this was indicated by the extensive checks performed by stock-traders at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, thus the first day of trading was postponed until Tuesday.
